YouPay and MintStars buddy up to ‘ramp up legitimacy of adult content market’

• New partnership sees London content platform work with Aussie gifting specialist to help content creators and their fans

• Collaboration is a ‘step forward’ in de-stigmatising adult content creators

• MintStars and YouPay ‘super-excited’ to see impact of their joint efforts

Sex-positive content platform MintStars is to collaborate with professional gifting specialist YouPay to ‘ramp up the legitimacy’ of the adult content creator economy.

The partnership reflects the need for professional, trustworthy and stable platforms to help creators engage with fans, in a sector that is struggling to deal with issues such as debanking and discrimination.

London-based MintStars and YouPay, founded in Brisbane, say the new partnership will create synergies that benefit all creators and their fans.

MintStars co-founder and COO Jessica Van Meir said: ‘MintStars was launched to offer a more inclusive alternative to existing platforms such as OnlyFans with lower fees, plus protections from chargebacks and censorship.

‘Our partnership with YouPay reflects that desire, helping creators minimise personal and financial risk while allowing them to monetise their work fairly.’

YouPay founder and CEO Matt Holme said: ‘We have seen a significant shift in platform reliability recently with several solutions ceasing to operate, putting the fundamentals of the creator economy at risk.

‘We’re seeking partnerships with like-minded platforms and solutions to provide a collective support network creators across all categories.

‘MintStars has developed a strong reputation and following with creators, and we’re excited to be working with the team.’

Positioned as the ‘professional platform for professional creators’, YouPay lets users set up wish-lists of items that their fans can gift them.

It aims to support creators’ personal goals and help them ‘achieve their full potential in the creator economy’.

MintStars was born out of a desire to eliminate exploitation of and discrimination against adult content creators by providing a more inclusive alternative to existing platforms.

The MintStars model encourages fans to actively promote the work of creators, shifting responsibility from creators alone and creating a dynamic where fans have a vested interest in supporting and amplifying creators’ content.

Van Meir said: ‘A core focus for MintStars is ensuring creators get paid without fear of deplatforming, and we’re delighted to collaborate with YouPay to enhance the level of professional capability and trust for our respective users.

‘We must de-stigmatise adult content creators, and this collaboration is another step in our mission to have adult creators accepted as legitimate, professional businesspeople who should have the same rights as any other category of creator or influencer.’

YouPay and MintStars will identify opportunities to share resources and capability, as well as creating new avenues for creators to access support to help them achieve their full potential both professionally and personally.

Van Meir said: ‘This collaboration is an announcement to the community that there are sex-positive partners out there who are focused on meeting creators’ needs in the long-term, while minimising personal and financial risk.’

Holme added: ‘Our partnership with MintStars follows directly on from our recent partnership with Sidenty, and is another example of our focus on bringing access to like-minded partners to our creators and their fans. We’re super excited to see where our collaboration will lead.’
